The 2009 Planning Committee has already begun the planning for the March Conference which will once again address issues that are timely, practical and of interest to Clerks and Finance Officers from throughout Minnesota
. Jill Anderson, MCFOA President, City of Mountain Iron has chosen "Passing the Torch" as the Conference theme. Her thought is to incorporate this theme throughout the Conference educational sessions, exhibit hall, and entertainment activities.
Thanks to all of you who took the time to participate in the on-line post-2008 Conference evaluation. We had 232 responses (compared to 149 written responses in 2007). Rest assured that your input on educational sessions and suggestions on how to make the 2009 Conference even better are being taken to heart by the Planning Committee. Based on your comments, many of you will be pleased to know that the Recognition Awards Ceremony will move back to the banquet on Thursday, that you will have a “free” evening on Wednesday and that some of those “hot” topics which had overflow crowds may be repeated again in 2009.
Later in the summer you will again have the chance to give your input on which topics should be included in the 2009 Conference. Your feedback will also help determine if there are sessions which should be repeated during the Conference (also a suggestion on the electronic evaluation).
