Open Data Tech Jam
Track: Got GaaS? (Government-as-a-Service)
Tuesday, Dec. 5, 8:30 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.
Many government entities are now moving to open data. The idea of open data is that government data is public data, and should be readily available to residents. Does your organization have a plan to implement open data?
In this all-day Tech Jam session, attendees will work in a collaborative setting to understand open data, and begin to plan an open data implementation or find ways to utilize their data to better serve their communities. We invite participants who have already set up an open data portal and can share their experiences, and participants who have yet to implement open data and are looking to get started.
The Tech Jam uses a workshop format where attendees will work in small groups. These teams will produce white board ideas and recommendations that will be presented at the end of the day. Conference attendees will have access to plans and other information produced as part of the Tech Jam and are encouraged to attend a follow-up session during the Symposium.
