When a student's needs for belonging, success, freedom, and fun are not being met in the classroom, it can look like misbehavior, detachment, or disruptions and lead to a school failure identity for the student. We must examine how bias and stereotypes affect how those needs are or are not being met and their impact on student and teacher behavior. Learn how an anti-bias education framework can help teachers better meet student and teacher needs and create equity in the classroom to decrease negative behaviors and increase learning.
