MN Pipeline Workforce Program and Dual-Training Grant
Wednesday, December 11
2:45 pm to 3:45 pm
Pipeline Program Consultant, MN Department of Labor & Industry
Jacquelynn Mol Sletten
Financial Aid Administrator, MN Office of Higher Education
The Minnesota PIPELINE dual-training program is an innovative approach to address workforce needs. The accompanying dual-training grant, offered through the MN Office of Higher Education will pay up to $6000 per employee for up to $150,000 per employer per year to up-skill their workforce. It is helping employers in high demand industries (like Information Technology) change the question from “How do we find workers with the skills we need” to “How do we give workers the skills we need?”
In this session, attendees will learn how the program, offered through the MN Department of Labor and Industry, can change their training practices to grow their own workforce and how the grant can be used to pay for an employee’s education.
- Understand how a dual-training “earn while you learn” model can be a strong recruitment tool and lead to increased employee retention.
- Learn from the steps to starting your own Pipeline program within your company or organization.
- Understand the steps to apply for a dual-training grant that will pay for your employees’ tuition and fees to up-skill them into an in-demand occupation within your company.
