Building Empathy in Your Classroom
60 Minute Virtual Session
Learning Pathway: Student-Centered Learning
This session will discuss the importance of building empathy and ways to implement it in the classroom. Attendees will leave this session with a lesson plan to use, preferably during the first week of school, to set a tone of inclusiveness in the classroom.
Learning Objective 1: Participants will be able to explain and demonstrate the four components of empathy.
Learning Objective 2: Participants will be able to outline a design for a lesson on empathy to share in their own classroom.
Learning Objective 3: Participants will be able to support two elements listed in the Expanding the Vision of Reimagine Minnesota: A Collective Education Roadmap for Action.
