Challenging Assumptions and Biases: I’m just your normal kid
60 Minute Virtual Session
Learning Pathway: Mental Health
Mandy’s whole educational career she was just the normal kid. The one who worked hard. Got good grades. Came from a good family. Was compliant and kind to others. The cheerleader who immersed herself in extra-curricular activities in order to get into college. However, perceptions aren’t always reality. The story Mandy will share is one of an error in perceptions and how biases and assumptions can lead us to ignore kids who may need us most, and what we can learn from her experience to see our kids in a different light.
